TCNJ FOOTBALL TEAM PARTICIPATES IN
"SUPER BOWL" READING PROGRAM

TWENTY-SIX LIONS STRESS IMPORTANCE OF READING TO
YOUNGSTERS IN FOOTBALL-THEMED PRESENTATION

The College of New Jersey’s football team participated in a “Super Bowl” reading program at McGalliard Elementary School in Hamilton Township on January 22.

Twenty six members of TCNJ’s football squad traveled to McGalliard dressed in their game jerseys and met with students ranging from kindergartners to fifth-graders to discuss different aspects of football while stressing the importance of reading.

Following a football-themed assembly, the group dispersed to classrooms where the TCNJ players read to the students and stressed the importance of reading in relation to academic success. McGalliard School is one of 16 elementary schools in the Hamilton Township School District.
