GREENCASTLE,
IA—New Jersey Athletic Conference women’s and
men’s indoor track & field athletes picked up 21 All-American Awards
at the 2003 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships
hosted by DePauw University, March 14-15, 2003. The following are
summaries of the conference’s All-American performances:
Brittny Boyd, TCNJ
In the 400 Meters, Boyd became an
All-American after finishing in eighth place with a time of 58.37.
Karim
Cockrell, TCNJ
Cockrell earned two All-American honors by finishing fifth in both the 55
Meter Dash and the Long Jump. Both performances took place on the same
day, as he posted a time of 6.42 in the dash before recording a leap of
6.84 meters in the Long Jump.
Ed
Fortune, Rowan
Fortune took second place in the 55
Meters with a time of 6.41 to earn All-American honors.
Tierra Hicks, Montclair State
Hicks placed fifth in the 400 Meters with a time of 57.33 to earn
All-American honors.
Ronna Killins, Ramapo
Killins placed third with a Ramapo school record of 2:15.04 in the 800
Meters to earn All-American honors for the second consecutive year.
Diana Lawson, NJCU
For a third consecutive season, Lawson earned All-American honors in the
55 Meter Dash with a time of 7.14.
Kim Marino, Richard Stockton
Marino became the first Stockton female NCAA track & field
champion with a meet record vault of 12 feel 10.75 inches to become an
All-American in the Pole Vault.
Nick Ricco, TCNJ
A two-time All-American in the 5,000 Meters, Ricco placed third with a
time of 14:37.74. For his efforts, Ricco was recognized as the NCAA
Division III Atlantic Regional Male Indoor Runner of the Year.
Jeff Zodda, TCNJ
In the 800 Meters, Zodda posted a time of 1:55.94 for a sixth place finish
and All-American honors.
TCNJ Women’s 4x400 Meter Relay Team
(Brittny Boyd, Irene Leidenfrost, Tiffany Clark, Kate Powell)
The Lions posted a time of 3:55.51 to earn sixth place and
All-American honors.
Montclair State Men’s 4x400 Meter Relay Team
(Paul Noel, Alex Torres, Ed Hamilton, Darryl Louis)
The Red Hawks took fourth place in a time of 3:18.32 to earn
All-American honors.
TCNJ Men’s 4x400 Meter Relay Team
(Kevin Semanick, Eric Green, Jesse Mesina, Tim Wilson)
The Lions posted a time of 3:18.62 to take sixth place and earn
All-American honors.
