TCNJ'S JENKINS NAMED NCAA DIVISION III
 NATIONAL PITCHER OF THE WEEK

LION RELIEVER GARNERS NATIONAL HONOR FROM
 NATIONAL COLLEGIATE BASEBALL WRITERS ASSOCIATION

The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association selected TCNJ reliever Julius Jenkins as its National Pitcher of the Week for the week ending April 20.

Jenkins became the second NJAC baseball player to garner national honors during the 2003 season, as William Paterson's Ron Hayward was previously named National Hitter of the Week for the week ending March 30.

A panel of Division III NCBWA members reviews candidates from each Division III Conference each week and names winners each Tuesday throughout the season.

Jenkins became the first reliever to earn NJAC Pitcher of the Week honors
after collecting a win and three saves in six appearances during the week
for the Lions. In 14 1/3 innings, he surrendered only 10 hits, three earned
runs (1.88 ERA) and three walks while striking out 15 during the course of
the week. In five-of-his-six outings, he logged at least two innings as the
Lions went 5-1 in the six games that he appeared in. Jenkins currently ranks
second among NJAC pitchers with a 1.86 earned run average. He also leads the
conference with four saves on the season.
