NEPOLITAN NAMED CROSS COUNTRY
 AND TRACK & FIELD COACH AT RAMAPO


FORMER DON BOSCO PREP COACH SELECTED
TO LEAD SIX ROADRUNNER PROGRAMS



On August 5, Ramapo athletic director Eugene Marshall announced the hiring of
John Nepolitan to the position of head women’s and men’s cross country and track and field coach.

A 1984 graduate of St. Thomas Aquinas with a degree in business administration, Nepolitan brings a wealth of running and coaching experience to the school having begun his coaching career at
Albertus Magnus High School in 1984. 
 

From 1988-1996, Nepolitan worked for UCS, the world leader in manufacturing track and field equipment.  The company was the official supplier of track and field equipment for the 1984, 1988, and 2000 Olympic Games. In 1996, he left UCS to become a teacher of Social Studies, and head cross country and track and field coach at Don Bosco Prep in Ramsey, NJ. At DBP, he led his team to ten NNJIL Championships and six Bergen County Titles. The team was named Bergen County Team of the Year six times, while Nepolitan was named Bergen County Cross Country Coach of the Year and All-Area Cross Country Coach of the Year in 2001. He was a three-time All-Suburban Newspapers Cross Country Coach of the Year from 1999-2001.


Nepolitan has attended the last two World Cross Country Championships in
Dublin (2001) and Lasuanne, Swiss (2002), where he was a photographer for the internet web site dyestat.com and the running magazine, “The Harrier”. In addition, he recently published a book by Shooting Star Media, (Madison WI), titled Training Profiles-HS Boys Distance and is currently working on the second edition, Training Profiles-HS Girls Distance.
 

Nepolitan is a resident of Pearl River, NY.
