Rowan senior second baseman Nick
Urbanovich has been selected for the 2003 Easton Redline Defensive
Award. The award spotlights the top defensive players in the nation
from four year colleges.
Urbanovich was chosen as the top defensive player in NCAA Division
III. In 2003, he made only six errors in 204 chances for a .971
fielding percentage. He also was involved in 31 double plays.
In 41 games, Urbanovich posted a .373 batting average with 60 hits
in 161 at bats and 33 RBI. His 52 runs scored and 30 walks led the
team. He also added 13 extra-base hits on eight doubles, four
triples and one home run. Urbanovich was named to the New Jersey
Athletic Conference, the New Jersey Collegiate Baseball Association
and the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Region All-Star first teams. In addition,
he was an Eastern College Athletic Conference Metro Region
second-team All-Star.
Rowan finished the 2003 season with a 31-10 overall record. The
Profs won the NJAC Championship and were the top-seed at the NCAA
Mid-Atlantic Regional Tournament.
