RUTGERS-NEWARK'S LANZONE BREAKS
THE 2,000-CAREER KILL PLATEAU


BECOMES 21st NCAA DIVISION III VOLLEYBALL TO REACH MILESTONE

 

Rutgers-Newark senior outside hitter Domini Lanzone became the 21st player in NCAA Division III women's volleyball history to amass 2,000 kills in the Scarlet Raiders' 3-0 NJAC victory over Rutgers-Camden on October 9.

Through six weeks of NJAC volleyball, Lanzone has earned conference Player of the Week honors three times.

In week one, the 2002 first-team All-NJAC selection opened her senior season by
breaking the 2,000-career point plateau at the Springfield Invitational Tournament. For her efforts, she was also named the week one ECAC Division III Volleyball Player of the Week.

In week three, she captured league honors for the second time after being named the Most Valuable Player at the Pitt-Bradford Tournament.
 

In week six, she garnered her third NJAC Player of the Week honor after being named the Most Valuable Player at Rutgers-Newark's Golden Dome Invitational.


Through 22 matches for the 17-5 Scarlet Raiders, Lanzone's career statistical totals stand at 2,036 kills, 1,035 digs and 254 service aces for 2,423.5 career points. Lanzone currently leads the NJAC in kills at 5.47 per game.
