TOURNAMENT TIME!


NCAA TOURNAMENT BIDS AT STAKE THIS WEEK IN 
NJAC WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL, WOMEN'S SOCCER
 AND MEN'S SOCCER CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENTS 

The first two New Jersey Athletic Conference Tournaments of the year get under way on Tuesday, November 5 with the first round of the 2002 NJAC Women's Volleyball Tournament and the semifinals of the 2002 NJAC Women's Soccer Tournament. Men's soccer gets into the action one day later as the semifinals of the 2002 NJAC Men's Soccer Tournament kickoff on Wednesday, November 6.

VOLLEYBALL
Opening round match-ups on Tuesday, November 5 will feature sixth-seeded Kean (20-18) traveling to Glassboro to face third-seeded Rowan (24-8) at 7:00 PM. The winner will travel to Pomona on Thursday, November 7 for a semifinal match-up with second-seeded Richard Stockton (20-13) at 7:00 PM.

On the other side of the bracket, fifth-seeded William Paterson (18-10) will travel to Jersey City on November 5 to face fourth-seeded New Jersey City (22-7) at 7:00 PM. The winner earns a trip to Newark to face number-one seed Rutgers-Newark (14-9) on November 7. 

The two semifinal winners will meet at the site of the highest remaining seed in the 2002 NJAC Volleyball Championship Match on Saturday, November 9 at a time to be determined by the host institution. The tournament winner receives the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament, with the match-ups scheduled to be announced by the NCAA on the evening of Sunday, November 10.

WOMEN'S SOCCER  
The 2002 NJAC Women's Soccer Tournament also gets under way on Tuesday, November 5 with two semifinal match-ups. Fourth-seeded Richard Stockton (14-3-3) will travel to Ewing to face number-one seed The College of New Jersey (14-0-2) at 7:30 PM. In the other semifinal, third-seeded Montclair State (10-5-2) will travel to Wayne to face second-seeded William Paterson (13-6-1) at 7:00 PM. The two semifinal winners will advance to the NJAC Championship Match on Friday, November 8 at the site of the highest remaining seed. Kickoff time for the championship match will be determined by the host school. 

The tournament winner will receive the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament. NCAA Tournament match-ups for women's soccer are scheduled to be announced by the NCAA on the evening of Sunday, November 10.

MEN'S SOCCER
The 2002 NJAC Men's Soccer Tournament kicks off on Wednesday, November 6 with two semifinal match-ups. Fourth-seeded The College of New Jersey (9-6-3) will travel to Glassboro to face number-one seed Rowan (15-2-2) at 7:00 PM. On the other side of the bracket, third-seeded Kean (16-4-0) will travel to Pomona to face second-seeded Richard Stockton (15-4-0) at 7:00 PM. The two semifinal winners will advance to the NJAC Championship Match on Saturday, November 9 at the site of the highest remaining seed, with the kickoff time to be determined by the host. 

The tournament winner receives the NJAC's automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament. Like women's volleyball and women's soccer, the NCAA will announce the Division III men's soccer tournament field on the evening of Sunday, November 10.
