Grant was named to the NABC Atlantic District First Team and is now a candidate for All-America honors. He was also tapped by D3Hoops.com to the 2005 Men’s All-Atlantic Region First Team.
Earlier this season, he was also named the 2004-05 Pony Wilson Men’s Basketball Player of the Year by the New Jersey Athletic Conference men’s basketball coaches. Grant, the Lions’ co-captain, led the NJAC and the Lions in scoring the entire season and finished the year with a league leading 20.8 ppg (541 points). He currently ranks 29th in Division III in scoring and finished his career as TCNJ’s No. 2 all-time leading scorer with 1,543 points.
Grant played in 101 career games for TCNJ, making 72 starts. On the 2004-05 year, he posted double-digit scoring performances in all 26 games played and was the Lions’ high scorer in 16 different occasions during his senior season. He started the year off earning a spot on the Gallaudet University Holiday Classic All-Tournament Team and added two selections as the NJAC Player of the Week and another as the ECAC Player of the Week. His senior season marked the second straight year he finished with over 500 points scored.
He finished the season ranked among the NJAC’s leaders in several categories. He ranks No. 3 in three-point field goals made per game (2.85, 74-190), No. 5 in free throw percentage (79.3%, 115-145), No. 15 in assists (53, 2.3 apg), No. 15 with 94 defensive rebounds, and No. 3 in minutes per game (34.1). Overall on the year, he shot 41.4% from the floor (176-425) with 121 rebounds (4.7 rpg), and picked off 23 steals.
His career resume also includes 126 steals, 181 assists, 402 rebounds and 1,543 points in 101 games, for a 15.27 career point per game average. He is a two-time NJAC All-Star First Team honoree and last year he was a NABC Second Team All-District pick as well as an ECAC All-Star Second Team honoree. |
