ROWAN'S COLE CAPTURES HIS 200TH CAREER
BASEBALL COACHING VICTORY

REACHES MILESTONE WITH WIN OVER WORCESTER STATE ON MARCH 26

Rowan University baseball coach John Cole recorded his 200th career victory when the Profs defeated Worcester State, 9-4 in the second game of a double header on March 26.

In seven seasons, Cole has compiled a 201-63 won-lost record. Rowan is undefeated with a 14-0 record and ranked number one in the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Division III Coaches Poll. On March 30, the Profs posted a 15-1 victory at home over Gwynedd-Mercy College.

Last year, Cole guided Rowan to a 41-8 record and the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Championship. The Profs broke the school record for wins in a season (36) that was established in Cole’s first season (1999).  The Profs won the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional and advanced to the NCAA national championship.

He was selected the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Region Coach of the Year, the New Jersey Collegiate Baseball Association (NJCBA) Coach of the Year and the NJAC Coach of the Year. Cole has guided the Profs to three conference titles and four appearances in the NCAA regional. Three times he has been named the conference’s Coach of the Year and the NJCBA Coach of the Year.

On March 30, the University of Pennsylvania announced that Cole will succeed coach Bob Seddon who is retiring at the end of the season after 34 years.
