RAMAPO'S WRIGHT NAMED METROPOLITAN MEN'S BASKETBALL
WRITERS ASSOCIATION PLAYER OF THE YEAR

LED ROADRUNNERS TO THREE-YEAR RECORD OF 73-15

Ramapo senior guard Amin Wright was selected as the Player of the Year by the Metropolitan Men's Basketball Writers Association at the annual Haggerty Awards Dinner held at the Meadowlands on April 13.

A key contributor to Ramapo’s 73-15 overall record over the past three seasons, Wright helped the Roadrunners garner their first NJAC Championship in 2004-05. In addition, he helped lead his squad to its second NCAA Tournament appearance in the past three years. Wright led Ramapo to the NCAA Sweet 16 in 2004-05, after previously playing a major role on a Roadrunner squad that advanced to the NCAA Elite Eight in 2002-03.

Wright tallied 1,000 points during his three-year career at Ramapo and was named the NJAC Defensive Player of the Year for both the 2004-05 and 2003-04 seasons.  In addition to his NJAC Defensive Payer of the Year selections, Wright was named to the NJAC's First-Team all-conference squad and to D3hoops.com's First-Team All-Atlantic Region Team.

Wright was awarded Third-Team All-American honors from D3hoops.com as well as being named the NABC District Player of the Year. He also racked up NABC First-Team All-American honors following the 2004-05 season.
