GRACE NAMED HEAD WOMEN'S BASKETBALL COACH AT RAMAPO

BECOMES FIRST FULL-TIME WOMEN'S BASKETBALL COACH IN SCHOOL HISTORY

On August 20, Ramapo College Athletic Director, Eugene Marshall, Jr., announced the appointment of Tiesha Grace as the first ever full-time head coach of the Roadrunner women’s basketball team.

Grace formerly served as an assistant coach at Fairleigh Dickinson University-Teaneck, for the past five years. A native of Long Island, NY, Grace began her career as an assistant with the Knights after serving as a graduate assistant coach for the first two seasons. Her duties at FDU included the coordinating of travel arrangements for the team as well as individual skill development for post players and guards, in addition to on-court coaching.

A 1999 graduate of the University of New Haven, Grace played four years for the Chargers’ basketball team. She is one of only two players in the school’s history to eclipse both the 1,000-point and 1,000-rebound marks. Grace was honored as a second-team All-New England Collegiate Conference member as a sophomore and earned All-NECC first-team recognition during her junior and senior seasons. She was also an All-ECAC second-team selection following her junior year in which she averaged 11.4 points per game and 11.2 rebounds per game. Grace still holds several single-season and career marks in the Charger record books.

Grace also served as a graduate assistant coach at the University of Hartford prior to joining the FDU program. She received her master’s in administrative science from Fairleigh Dickinson in 2001.
