 RAMAPO'S ALLEN RECORDS HIS 200TH
CAREER SOFTBALL COACHING VICTORY

REACHES MILESTONE WITH A 10-2 ROAD VICTORY AT STATEN ISLAND

With a 10-2 non-conference road win at the College of Staten Island on March 30, Ramapo head softball coach Ben Allen earned his 200th career coaching victory.

Allen was named interim coach at Rowan midway through the 1999 season, and inherited a team that was 2-8 following its Spring Break trip. The Roadrunners finished that 1999 season at 20-17, with an 18-9 record under his leadership.

After assuming the head coaching position on a permanent basis in 2000, he led his team to a 21-16 overall record, including a 6-2 mark in the NJAC Blue Division and a berth in the NJAC Tournament. During his seven years as head coach, he has produced 203-99 overall record, and a mark of 76-30 in conference play.

In 2003, his team hosted the NCAA East Regional Tournament for the first time while recording the best overall and conference records in school history with respective marks of 33-7 and 18-0.

The following season, Allen led his team to a second NCAA East Regional appearance with a 35-8 overall record and a 15-3 mark in the NJAC, with the Roadrunners hosting the NCAA Tournament for the second straight year.

In addition to his head coaching duties, Allen also serves as an Assistant Athletic Director at Ramapo.
