STOCKTON'S LENSCH TO BE INDUCTED INTO THE
NEW JERSEY ASA HALL OF FAME

OSPREY ASSISTANT COACH TO BE HONORED IN SOMERSET ON MAY 7

Richard Stockton assistant softball coach Linda Lensch will be inducted into the New Jersey State Amateur Softball Association Hall of Fame on May 7. Lensch, one of five 2006 New Jersey ASA Hall of Fame honorees, is being recognized for over 25 years of meritorious service as a player, manager, coach, umpire and tournament director. She is currently in her fourth season as an assistant coach at Stockton.

Lensch played for and later served as player-manager for the Linden Arians. She also played on the Linden Majors, Staten Island Saints, and South Jersey Rebels women's teams. Lensch twice earned ASA Women's Major Modified All-American honors, and she also helped her team to a second-place finish at the 1999 national tournament.

Lensch founded the New Jersey Divas women's fastpitch softball team in 1998. She led the Divas to the ASA Women's 23-Under national championship and a third-place finish at the ASA Women's Class-A Nationals in 2003. Stockton head coach Val Julien also served on the Divas' coaching staff. The Divas attended several ASA national tournaments and produced 10 ASA All-Americans between 2003-2005.

In addition to her four years as a Stockton assistant, Lensch also has collegiate experience as the pitching coach at Seton Hall University and Kean University. She has coached numerous youth softball teams and hosted several tournaments in the Union County area. Lensch also is a graduate of the ASA National Umpire School. The New Jersey State Amateur Softball Association Hall of Fame luncheon will be held at the Somerset Marriott Hotel in Somerset.
