TCNJ TO CELEBRATE NATIONAL GIRLS AND WOMEN IN SPORTS DAY

AN ARRAY OF CAMPUS EVENTS SCHEDULED FOR FEBRUARY 3

The College of New Jersey’s athletic department will be holding their first ever National Girls and Women in Sports Day on February 3. The day will be filled with a wide variety of events for young women in sports, commencing with a speakers program, a brunch, a banner making contest and culminating with free admission to TCNJ’s women’s basketball game with Ramapo College at 1:00 PM. TCNJ’s women’s basketball team will also be on hand after the contest for an autograph session. 

The program is free and open to girls and young women between the ages of 11-16. Parents and guardians can attend the brunch for a cost of $10.95 and free admission to the basketball game is included. The deadline to register for the event is January 26, 2007. In the event of inclement weather, please contact TCNJ’s hotline number at 609-771-2682 about the status of the event. Should inclement weather occur, the event will be postponed that day, and rescheduled for February 7. All pre-registered guests are invited to TCNJ’s women’s basketball game on February 7 with Richard Stockton College and will receive their t-shirts and programs at the basketball game in conjunction with that contest, while the speaker portion of the day, the brunch, and the banner making contest will be cancelled. 

The schedule for the day commencing with on-site check-in will take place commencing at 8:30 AM on February 3 with the speaker portion of the day starting at 9:00 AM and wrapping with a question and answer session for the speakers and guests in attendance at 10:15 AM. Brunch will be served at 10:45 AM for the participants prior to the banner making contest. Prizes will be awarded for the banner contest at halftime of the basketball game.
