TCNJ'S BUSKETT NAMED NCAA DIVISION III
NATIONAL PITCHER OF THE WEEK


RECOGNIZED BY THE NCBWA FOR PLAY IN WEEK ENDING APRIL 8


TCNJ junior pitcher Bob Buskett has been named the NCAA Division III National Pitcher of the Week by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association for the week ending April 8. Buskett also was selected as the New Jersey Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week, which led to his selection as the New Jersey Collegiate Baseball Coaches Association Pitcher of the Week as well as the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Metro Division III Pitcher of the Week.

 

The Lions’ left-handed pitcher collected a pair of victories on the mound for TCNJ. He first surrendered just three hits and no earned runs in seven innings of work while striking out three in TCNJ’s 8-2 non-conference win over No. 19 ranked Johns Hopkins. He wrapped up the week by surrendering six hits and one earned run while striking out seven and walking none in eight innings of work during the Lions’ 12-1 NJAC road victory at NJCU.

 

On the season, Buskett is now 3-0 with a 5.33 ERA in five starts with 16 strikeouts in 16 innings of work. On his career, he is 12-0 in 23 outings with a 3.58 ERA in 108 innings of work with 66 strikeouts. He has limited the opposition to a .238 average while working from the mound.
