RAMAPO'S LOWBER SIGNS CONTRACT WITH THE
MINNESOTA VIKINGS


INKS THREE-YEAR DEAL DESPITE NEVER PLAYING ORGANIZED FOOTBALL


Despite never having participated in organized football, former Ramapo men's basketball and track & field athlete Todd Lowber signed a three-year deal with the NFL's Minnesota Vikings on April 18.
 


Vikings' scout Jamaal Stephenson signed the former Roadrunner after he recorded a sub-4.4-second 40-yard dash at Winter Park on April 18. 

 

Lowber graduated from Ramapo in  2006 after becoming the first athlete to win a National Championship in the high jump with a winning leap of 7-feet in the spring of 2006. He also started 49 games for the Roadrunners men’s basketball team over two seasons, averaging more than 12.0 points per game.  He helped lead Ramapo to the school's first ever New Jersey Athletic Conference Championship in 2005 with a 79-71 victory over Richard Stockton in the league title game.  

 

The Vikings open their preseason schedule when the they host the St. Louis Rams at Minnesota's Metrodome on August 8.
