FORMER ROADRUNNER RIGHT-HANDER SELECTED BY PETACH TIKVA

On April 29,
former Ramapo pitcher Josh Epstein was selected in the second round of the inaugural Israel Baseball League draft by the Petach Tikva Pioneers. The draft was held at the Cardozo School of Law in New York City. Epstein pitched for the Roadrunners from 2003-06, compiling a 3-1 career record and a 3.54 ERA.

The Israel Baseball League is embarking on its inaugural season, as it is the first professional baseball league in the Middle East. Former Boston Red Sox and Montreal Expos general manager Dan Duquette is the IBL’s director of baseball operations, while former New York Yankee Public Relations guru Marty Appel is handling similar duties for the league.  The league begins play June 24, and can be followed online at http://www.israelbaseballleague.com.
