KEAN'S ANZIVINO AND TCNJ'S KROL NAMED NJAC
WOMEN'S SOCCER OFFENSIVE & DEFENSIVE PLAYERS OF THE YEAR

MSU'S KUHMANN TAPPED AS LEAGUE'S GOALKEEPER OF THE YEAR

Kean University senior forward Heather Anzivino and The College of New Jersey junior back Courtney Krol have been named the New Jersey Athletic Conference Women’s Soccer Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year respectively for the 2006 season.

The 2003 NJAC Rookie of the Year, Anzivino is a four-time all-conference selection and a two-time first team pick. She currently leads the NJAC in points (43), goals (19), points per game (2.53) and goals per game (1.12). Against NJAC competition, Anzivino posted conference-best totals of nine goals and 21 points.

A staple in the TCNJ defensive backfield, Krol earned Defensive Player of the Year honors for the second consecutive season after anchoring a Lion defense that has allowed just seven goals in 17 matches played on the season. A two-time all-conference selection, Krol leads a defensive unit that leads the NJAC in both goals against average (0.37) and shutouts (12). Krol and the top-seeded Lions will be seeking their second consecutive NJAC Championship when they host second-seeded Montclair State in the 2006 NJAC Tournament Championship match on November 4.

Montclair State senior net-minder Kristin Kuhmann was the recipient of the conference’s Goalkeeper of the Year Award. A two-time NJAC all-conference selection, Kuhmann earned NJAC Defensive Player of the Week honors three times during the season. She currently leads the league in both total saves (155) and save percentage (.906).

Montclair State freshman forward Natalia Sisti was tapped as the 2006 NJAC Rookie of the Year. A two-time NJAC Weekly award selection, Sisti currently ranks second in the NJAC in goals (16), and third in the league in points (35).

Montclair head coach Eileen Blair was selected as the NJAC Coach of the Year by her peers. In 2006, she has guided the Red Hawks to 12-5-3 overall mark and an appearance in the 2006 NJAC Championship match. In nine seasons at the helm of the MSU program, Blair has guided the Red Hawks to an overall record of 106-58-22.
