NJCU STUDENT-ATHLETES PROVIDE 'THREE DAYS OF HAPPINESS"
AT LOCAL CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL

COSTUMED ATHLETES PROVIDE HOLIDAY CHEER FOR RECOVERING CHILDREN

On December 1, six student-athletes and another NJCU student joined Arnold Jeter, the Gothic Knights' Coordinator of Athletic Academic Retention and CHAMPS/Life Skills, in a community service outreach project coordinated by the NJCU Student-Athlete Advisory Board (SAAB). Dubbed "Three Days of Happiness for New Jersey Hospitals and Rehabilitation Centers," the athletes dressed in cartoon costumes and visited the Children's Specialized  Hospital in Mountainside.

In costume were Katie Feehan (women's soccer) as Minnie Mouse, Rob Sumner (baseball) as Mickey Mouse, James Llano as Blue from Blue's Clues, Jonathan Gomez (baseball) as Elmo, and Josue Martinez (baseball) as Dora the Explorer.

Also participating were Carlos Suarez and Rob Motacki from the baseball team. Suarez coordinated the event, while Motacki has been a volunteer at the hospital for many years.

All outfits worn by the volunteers were donated for the event by Party Perfect Rentals in Marlboro, NJ.
