ROWAN'S BAKER HONORED BY THE PHILADELPHIA
SPORT WRITERS ASSOCIATION


RECOGNIZED AT THE ORGANIZATION'S 104TH ANNUAL BANQUET


Rowan assistant women’s basketball coach Thomas Baker was honored at the 104th Philadelphia Sports Writers Association annual banquet held in Cherry Hill on January 28.

Baker was a standout guard on Rowan's men’s basketball team from 2005-07. In 2006-07, he led the NJAC in scoring and was seventh in the country with 23.8 points per game (ppg). He totaled 620 points in 26 games and was ninth in the conference with a .497 field goal percentage. Baker shot .723 percent from the free throw line and averaged 4.2 rebounds per game (rpg). In 2005-06, Baker only appeared in nine games, but averaged 20.0 ppg and 4.1 rpg.

 

Baker was chosen the 2007 National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Atlantic District and NJAC Player of the Year. He was named to the NABC All-America and Atlantic All-District, NJAC All-Conference, and Division III News All-America first teams. Baker also earned Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) All-Star honors and he was selected the Most Valuable Player of the NJAC/Skyline Senior Game. 

Baker graduated from Rowan in May of 2007 with a bachelor of arts degree in communications.
