NAMED FULL-TIME HEAD |

In the fall of 2006, Ranero returned to the University part-time to coach the women’s volleyball team. She guided the Profs to a 6-18 record and a 2-6 New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) mark. The sport was reinstated in 2006 after a one-year hiatus.
“It is with pleasure that I announce Libby Ranero as the full-time women’s volleyball coach,” said Solomen. “This will be a tremendous boost to the program and our student-athletes. Libby will bring stability and consistency to the program and she will be able to take it to a high level of competition and success.”
Ranero also coached the Profs from 1995-98.In four seasons, she compiled a record of 41-62 and the women’s volleyball team made three appearances in the NJAC Championship Tournament (1996-98).
After her first stint at Rowan, Ranero was the head volleyball coach and teacher at Westminster Christian School (FL) from 1999-2004. She guided WCS to six straight state playoffs and three elite eight appearances. Her teams were ranked in the top 10 in the Florida State Poll (as high as eighth in 2000, third in 2002 and fifth in 2003). Six of Ranero’s players were named All-Miami-Dade County first team, one was the 2001 Player of the Year and received All-State second team honors.
Ranero was the assistant women’s volleyball coach at Appalachian State University (NC) from 1993-94 and at Watauga High School (NC) from 1991-92. She was also the Maclay Middle School (FL) volleyball coach for one season (1988).
Ranero graduated from Florida State University in 1989 with a bachelor’s degree in movement science and physical education. Prior to FSU, she attended Miami-Dade South Community College and lettered in volleyball from 1985-86. |
