PLAYER OF THE WEEK  

 

Jeff Toth, The College of New Jersey
Junior, Shortstop

Toth earns NJAC Player of the Week honors after hitting .600 (12-for-20) with three doubles, one triple, one home run, nine RBI, and seven runs scored in five conference games played for the Lions. He hit safely in all five contests and produced four multiple-hit games including a 3-for-5 performance with two doubles, a stolen base, three RBI and two runs scored in TCNJ’s 10-6 NJAC road win at Ramapo. He wrapped up the week by going a combined 5-for-7 with four RBI and four runs scored in TCNJ’s NJAC doubleheader split with Montclair State. Toth, who also handled 29 chances at his shortstop position without an error in the five games combined, currently ranks second in the NJAC in on-base percentage (.530).

PITCHER OF THE WEEK  

Ryan Kulik, Rowan University
Senior, Left-handed Pitcher

Kulik earns NJAC Pitcher of the Week honors for the fourth time this season and the second consecutive week after leading the Profs to a 4-0 NJAC shutout win over Ramapo. In the victory which improved his record to 6-2 on the season, he surrendered just four hits and no walks while striking out 14 for his second shutout and second complete game of the season. Kulik currently leads the NJAC in both innings pitched (59.0) and strikeouts (93), and is tied for the league lead in victories (6).

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Connors earns NJAC Rookie of the Week honors for the fourth time this season after hitting .370 (10-for-27) with a triple, three stolen bases, four RBI, and eight runs scored in six games played for the Scarlet Raiders. He hit safely in 5-for-6 games and produced three multiple-hit contests including a 3-for-5 performance with a triple and two runs scored in a NJAC road loss at Montclair State. He wrapped up the week by going 2-for-5 with a walk, a stolen base, a RBI, and a run scored in Newark’s 15-4 NJAC victory over Richard Stockton. Connors, who committed just one error in 39 chances during the week while helping to turn five double plays, currently ranks tied for fifth in the NJAC in runs scored (33).

ROOKIE PITCHER OF THE WEEK  

Dan Fimiani, Rutgers University-Camden

Fimiani earns NJAC Rookie Pitcher of the Week honors after allowing just one hit in 6.1 innings of work in the Scarlet Raptors’ 5-2 NJAC loss to TCNJ. In just the second start of his career, he left the game with a 2-1 lead after surrendering just one RBI single in 6.1 innings in the contest that the Lions rallied to win by scoring four runs with two outs in the top of the ninth inning. Fimiani, who is still seeking his first collegiate pitching decision, currently ranks ninth in the NJAC in opposing batting average (.217).
