OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK  

Chris James, The College of New Jersey

James earns NJAC Offensive Player of the Week honors after passing for four touchdowns in the Lions’ sixth consecutive victory, a 42-21 win over NJAC rival Western Connecticut. In the win, he completed 8-of-14 pass attempts for 179 yards and four scores, including touchdown strikes of 51, 32, 52, and 10 yards. He also rushed 12 times for 37 yards in the victory which improved TCNJ to 4-0 in the NJAC. James, who has passed for a career-best 1,021 yards on the season, currently ranks fifth in the NJAC in total offense per game (177.7).

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK  

Clarence Goodman, Kean University

Goodman earns NJAC Defensive Player of the Week honors after playing a key role in the Cougars’ 35-28 come-from-behind overtime NJAC victory over Rowan. In the win, he collected a career-high 16 tackles, including three tackles for a loss of 22 yards, and two sacks for a loss of 20. One of his two sacks pushed Rowan back 11 yards in a key fourth quarter sequence which sparked Kean to its fist victory over Rowan since 1994 and only its fifth win in 36 all-time meetings. Goodman currently ranks second in the NJAC in tackles with an average of 9.6 per game.

SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK  

Matthew Mintz, SUNY Cortland

Mintz earns NJAC Special Teams Player of the Week honors for the third time this season after contributing to the Red Dragons’ 43-13 NJAC victory over Montclair State. He was a perfect 3-for-3 on field goal attempts including a career-long 41-yard effort which put Cortland ahead 10-7 early in the first quarter. He also was 4-for-5 on extra point attempts while averaging 63.5 yards on eight kickoffs including three touchbacks. Mintz currently leads the NJAC in both field goal percentage (.778) and extra point percentage (.967).

OFFENSIVE ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Neal earns NJAC Offensive Rookie of the Week honors for the fourth time this season after registering 103 all-purpose yards in the Colonials’ NJAC road loss at TCNJ. He averaged 6.3 yards per carry on the day with 15 rushes for 94 yards, including a 55-yard scamper. He also registered four receptions for nine yards in the contest. Neal currently leads the NJAC in rushing with an average of 96.7 yards per game.

DEFENSIVE ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Haas earns NJAC Defensive Rookie of the Week honors for the fourth time this season after helping the Red Dragons’ improve to 5-0 in the NJAC with a 43-13 win over Montclair State. He notched a team and career-high 14 tackles in the contest in which Cortland held the Red Hawks to just five net rushing yards in the second half. Haas currently ranks sixth in the NJAC in tackles with an average of 7.9 per game.
