OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK  

Ryan McCoach, Montclair State University
Senior, Running Back

McCoach becomes the third different Red Hawk to earn NJAC Offensive Player of the Week honors after leading Montclair to a 42-28 NJAC win over rival William Paterson. Returning to the Red Hawk lineup after missing two weeks due to injury, he rushed 26 times for 173 yards and a career -best four touchdowns. He averaged 6.7 yards per carry and recorded scoring runs of 7, 1, 2 and a career-long 67-yards. His four touchdown runs increased his season total to 11, making him the first MSU back since 1999 to notch 10 or more rushing touchdowns in a season. McCoach currently leads the NJAC in rushing with an average of 108.3 yards per game.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK  

Jared Burke, William Paterson University
Sophomore, Linebacker
Egg Harbor Township, NJ/Egg Harbor Township

Burke becomes the second different Pioneer to earn NJAC Defensive Player of the Week honors after leading the William Paterson defense in a loss at Montclair State. In the contest, he notched a team-high 14 tackles, including 11 solo stops. He also collected a game-high five tackles for a total loss of 16 yards. Burke currently ranks sixth in the NJAC in tackles with an average of 8.0 per game.

SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK  

Zach Rinaldi, The College of New Jersey
Junior, Return Specialist
Burlington, NJ/Florence

Rinaldi becomes the second different Lion to earn NJAC Special Teams Player of the Week honors after contributing to a 27-14 NJAC road win at Buffalo State which clinched the league’s automatic bid for TCNJ and assured the Lions of at least a share of the NJAC Championship. In the win, he notched 42 punt return yards on five attempts for an 8.4 average and a long return of 22 yards. He also posted one 14-yard kickoff return and added one reception for 14 yards from his wide receiver position. Rinaldi currently ranks seventh in the NJAC in punt returns with an average of 6.2 yards per return.

OFFENSIVE ROOKIE OF THE WEEK  

Sean Atkins, Kean University
Freshman, Fullback
Perth Amboy, NJ/Perth Amboy

Atkins earns NJAC Offensive Rookie of the Week honors after playing a key role in the Cougars’ 40-7 NJAC road win at Western Connecticut. He rushed for a career-high 75 yards on 14 carries and four touchdowns in the victory. His scoring runs of 2, 5, 1, and 6 yards sparked Kean to its first NJAC road win of the season. Atkins, who missed all of the 2006 season due to injury, was a big part of Kean’s rushing attack which totaled 376 yards on the ground in the win over the Colonials.

DEFENSIVE ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Haas earns NJAC Defensive Rookie of the Week honors for the fifth time this season after playing a pivotal role in the Red Dragons’ 17-6 NJAC win over Rowan. He notched 12 total tackles, including five solo stops and one tackle for a loss to mark the third consecutive game that he has recorded 10 or more tackles. Haas, who has posted double-digit tackles in four games overall on the season, currently ranks third in the NJAC in tackles with an average of 8.8 per game.
