OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK  

Jennifer Tanis, Montclair State University
Junior, Forward
Jefferson, NJ/Oak Ridge

Tanis earns NJAC Offensive Player of the Week honors for the second time this season after tallying seven points in a 2-0 week of action for Montclair. She opened the week by registering an assist in the Red Hawks’ 3-2 non-conference win over Eastern in penalty strokes. She wrapped up the week by notching two goals and two assists for six points in MSU’s 7-0 NJAC victory over Richard Stockton. With the two goals against the Ospreys, she increased her season total to 19, tying the MSU single-season record. Tanis currently leads the NJAC in goals (19), assists (13), and points (51).

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK  

Jess Berkowitz, The College of New Jersey

Berkowitz becomes the third different Lion to earn NJAC Defensive Player of the Week honors after registering four points in a 2-1 week for TCNJ. She first tallied the game-wining goal in TCNJ’s 2-1 NJAC road win at Kean which clinched the conference championship and an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament for the Lions. Two days later, she notched the game-wining goal in the Lions’ 2-1 non-conference victory at Messiah. She wrapped up the week by contributing to a TCNJ defensive effort that held top-ranked Cortland to just five shots on goal in a 1-0 non-conference defeat to the Red Dragons. Berkowitz currently ranks fifth in the NJAC in points with 29 on the season.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK  

Jenni Barry, Kean University
Freshman, Goaltender
Berkeley Heights, NJ/Governor Livingston

Barry becomes the second different Cougar to earn NJAC Rookie honors after collecting 24 saves in two contests during the week for Kean. She first notched 14 saves while surrendering just two goals in the Cougars’ 2-1 NJAC loss to TCNJ. She wrapped up the week by registering 10 saves without allowing a goal in Kean’s 1-0 non-conference shutout over nationally ranked Elizabethtown. Barry currently leads the NJAC in save percentage with a mark of .838.
