OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK  

Danielle Miranda, Rowan University
Senior, Forward
Flanders, NJ/Mt. Olive

Miranda earns NJAC Offensive Player of the Week honors for the second time this season after tallying 14 points in a 3-0 week of play for Rowan. She opened the week by scoring a pair of goals for four points in the Profs’ 4-1 non-conference win over Alvernia. Two days later, she became the first NJAC player this season to score four goals in the game during a 6-0 non-conference victory over Drew. Three days later, she netted the final goal of the game during the Profs’ 4-1 NJAC road win at Ramapo. Miranda currently leads the NJAC in both points (46) and goals (22).

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK  

Sheri Grondski, The College of New Jersey
Senior, Back
Mercerville, NJ/Nottingham

Grondski becomes the second different Lion to earn NJAC Defensive Player of the Week honors after propelling TCNJ to three victories. She opened the week by registering an assist while helping to limit the Cougars to just 10 shots in TCNJ’s 7-1 NJAC victory over Kean. Two days later in the continuation of a suspended game, she netted a goal and an assist for three points in a 5-0 NJAC win over Ramapo which clinched the 2007 NJAC Field Hockey Championship for TCNJ. Three days later, she anchored a Lions’ defense which limited the Red Dragons to just seven shots in a 1-0 non-conference road win at No. 8 Cortland. Grondski currently is tied for the conference lead in assists with 10 on the season.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK  

Leigh Mitchell, The College of New Jersey
Freshman, Forward
Mt. Laurel, NJ/Lenape

Mitchell earns NJAC Rookie of the Week honors for the third time this season and the second consecutive week after tallying seven points in a 3-0 week for the Lions. She opened the week by notching a goal and an assist for three points in TCNJ’s 7-1 NJAC win over Kean. Two days later in the continuation of a game originally played on October 9, she netted a pair of goals for four points in the Lions’ 5-0 NJAC victory over Ramapo which clinched the NJAC crown for TCNJ. Mitchell currently ranks second in the NJAC in goals per game (0.81).
