TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK  

Brian Kopnicki, The College of New Jersey

Kopnicki becomes the second different Lion to earn NJAC Track Athlete of the Week honors after competing at the New Balance New York City Gotham Cup at the Armory in Manhattan. He defeated a field of 24 runners to place first in the 3,000 meters with an ECAC qualifying time of 8:22.73. In addition to his victory in the event, Kopnicki also was the only Division III runner to place in the Top 10 in the 3,000 meters.

King earns NJAC Rookie honors after competing for the Gothic Knights at the Yale University Collegiate Track Classic in New London, CT. In only the second collegiate competition of his career, he placed 26th in a field of 52 competitors in the 60 meter dash with a time of 7.45 seconds at Yale’s Cox Cage facility.
