DiGioacchino earns NJAC Men’s Indoor Track Athlete of
the Week honors after traveling to Princeton to compete at the Princeton
University New Year Invitational contested at Jadwin Gymnasium. He opened
his junior season by placing 13th in a field of 33 total competitors in
the 500 meters with an ECAC qualifying time of 1:07.37. He also was a
member of the Lions’ 4x400 meter relay which placed 11th in a field of 19
teams with a time of 3:28.42. DiGioacchino’s performance in the 500 meters
marked the best time of any Division III athlete in the meet. |

Asimou earns NJAC Men’s Indoor Field Athlete of the
Week honors for the second consecutive week after traveling to South
Orange to compete at the Seton Hall Games held in the Richie and Sheila
Regan Field House. He placed first in a field of 33 competitors in the
shot put with a winning throw of 15.89 meters. Asimou also claimed first
place in a field of 21 competitors in the hammer throw with a winning mark
of 15.94 meters. |

|
Ibeh earns NJAC Men’s Indoor Track & Field Rookie of
the Week honors after traveling to Collegeville, PA to compete at the
Ursinus Indoor Classic contested at the Floyd Lewis Bakes Field House. He
won the first individual race in the history of the Rutgers-Newark indoor
track & field program when he defeated a field of 29 competitors in the
400 meters with a winning time of 51.10. Ibeh also placed second in a
field of 44 competitors in the 200 meters with a time of 22.76. Ibeh’s
performance helped propel the Scarlet Raiders to a ninth place finish in
the 17-team meet. |
