TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Frank Iwanicki, Rutgers University-Camden Sophomore Edgewater Park, NJ/Holy Cross
Iwanicki becomes the second different Scarlet Raptor to earn NJAC Men’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week honors after traveling to Collegeville, PA to compete at the Frank Colden Invitational hosted by Ursinus College. He captured first place in a field of 20 competitors in the 1,000 meters with an ECAC qualifying time of 2:35.75. He also was a member of the Raptors’ 4x400 meter relay which placed first in a field of 11 teams with a winning time of 3:37.94. Iwanicki’s performances helped propel Rutgers-Camden to a second place team finish in the 18-team meet.
FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Eugene Asimou, Montclair State University Junior Livingston, NJ/Livingston
Asimou earns NJAC Men’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week honors for the fourth time this season and the second consecutive week after traveling to East Stroudsburg, PA to compete at the DeSchriver Invitational. He placed second in a field of 28 competitors in the shot put with an NCAA provisional qualifying throw of 16.26 meters. Asimou also placed second in a field of 24 competitors in the weight throw with an ECAC qualifying mark of 15.38 meters.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
William Brown, Montclair State University Freshman Gloucester, NJ/Palmyra
Brown earns NJAC Men’s Indoor Track & Field Rookie of the Week honors after traveling to East Stroudsburg, PA to compete at the DeSchriver Invitational. He placed third in a field of 34 competitors in the 55 meter hurdles with an NCAA provisional and personal best time of 7.60 seconds.
