TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
William Brown, Montclair State University Freshman Gloucester, NJ/Palmyra
A two-time NJAC Rookie of the Week selection, Brown earns the final NJAC Men’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week honor after traveling to Ada, OH to compete at the NCAA Division III National Championships hosted by Ohio Northern University. He placed 10th in a field of 11 competitors in the 55-meter hurdles with a time of 7.81. Brown’s performance helped propel the Red Hawks to a 39th place finish in the 66-team championship.
FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Eugene Asimou, Montclair State University Junior Livingston, NJ/Livingston
Asimou earns the final NJAC Men’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week honor, his fifth of the season, after traveling to Ada, OH to compete at the NCAA Division III National Championships hosted by Ohio Northern University. He earned All-American honors in the shot put by placing fourth in a field of 12 competitors with a school-record throw of 16.70 meters. Asimou’s performance helped Montclair State place 39th overall in the 66-team championship.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Kyle Hayes, Rowan University Freshman Point Pleasant, NJ/Point Pleasant Boro
Hayes earns the final NJAC Men’s Indoor Track & Field Rookie of the Week honor, his third of the season, after traveling to Ada, OH to compete at the NCAA Division III National Championships hosted by Ohio Northern University. Hayes wrapped up his freshman indoor season by placing 10th in a field of 14 competitors in the long jump with a leap of 6.83 meters.
