TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK  

Stephanie Herrick, The College of New Jersey

Herrick earns the final NJAC Women’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week honor, her fifth of the season, after traveling to Ada, OH to compete at the NCAA Division III National Championships hosted by Ohio Northern University. She earned All-American honors in the 800 meters by placing seventh in a field of 11 competitors with a time of 2:17.46. She also earned All-American honors in the mile run by placing seventh in a field of 11 competitors with a time of 5:09.20. At the annual banquet on the eve of the championships, she also was named the USTFCCCA Division III Women’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Year. Herrick’s performances helped TCNJ place 24th overall in the 67-team championship.

FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK  

Monique Riddick, Montclair State University

Riddick earns the final NJAC Women’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week honor, her third of the season, after traveling to Ada, OH to compete at the NCAA Division III National Championships hosted by Ohio Northern University. She captured the national title in the shot put by placing first in a field of 12 competitors with a winning throw of 14.14 meters. After finishing ninth in the preliminary round to claim the last spot in the finals, she fouled on her first two attempts before delivering the championship-winning toss on her last attempt. An All-American in the shot put, she became the first Red Hawk woman to claim an individual indoor national championship since 1993. Riddick’s performance helped propel the Red Hawks to a 15th place finish in the 67-team championship.

A week 10 NJAC Field Athlete of the Week selection, Brown earns the final NJAC Women’s Indoor Rookie honor, her second of the season, after traveling to Ada, OH to compete at the NCAA Division III National Championships hosted by Ohio Northern University. She earned All-American honors in the triple jump by placing eighth in a field of 16 competitors with a mark of 11.31 meters. Brown’s performance helped NJCU place 46th overall in the 67-team championship.
