PLAYER OF THE WEEK - WEEK 8

Duquan Everett, Montclair State University
Junior, Forward, Orange, NJ/Orange

Everett earns NJAC Player of the Week honors after averaging 27.3 points and 7.5 rebounds in a 2-2 week for the Red Hawks. He opened the week by tallying 29 points and six rebounds in the Red Hawks' 66-63 victory over Centenary. He then added 31 points, nine rebounds and four assists in MSU's 97-87 win over UMass-Dartmouth. In the opening round of the Coaches vs. Cancer Tournament at York (PA), he totaled 12 points and six rebounds in just 20 minutes of action in Montclair's 78-72 loss to Buffalo State. He wrapped up the week with a tournament-record 37 points in the Red Hawks' 85-84 consolation game loss to York (PA). Everett currently leads the NJAC in scoring with a per game average of 22.8.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK - WEEK 8

Jermont Horton, Rutgers University-Newark
Freshman, Forward, Irvington, NJ/Irvington

Horton earns NJAC Rookie honors for the third time this season after averaging 13.0 points and 9.5 rebounds in a 1-1 week for the Scarlet Raiders. He opened the week by tallying nine points and nine rebounds in a 65-62 non-conference road loss to Manhattanville. He wrapped up the week by posting a double-double of 17 points and 10 rebounds in the Raiders' 74-54 victory over Centenary. Horton currently ranks eighth in the NJAC in scoring and fourth in the conference in rebounding with respective per game averages of 14.8 points and 7.8 boards.
