Horton becomes the first Scarlet Raider to earns an NJAC weekly men's basketball award this season after averaging a double-double 24.5 points and 12.0 rebounds per game in a 1-1 week for Rutgers-Newark. He first notched a double-double 20 points and 12 rebounds in the Raiders' 63-57 NJAC overtime loss to Kean. He wrapped up the week by tallying a double-double 29 points and 12 rebounds in Newark's 68-64 NJAC road victory over TCNJ. Horton currently ranks fourth in the NJAC in scoring with an average of 17.6 points per game.

Hawkins earns NJAC Rookie honors after averaging 16.0 points and 3.5 rebounds per game in a 2-0 week for the Red Hawks. He first notched 11 points, three assists, one rebound and one steal in Montclair's 77-56 NJAC victory over TCNJ. He wrapped up the week by tallying 21 points and six rebounds in the Red Hawks' 71-67 NJAC road win at Richard Stockton. In the win over the Ospreys, he shot 8-of-14 from the field and 5-of-6 from three-point range. For the week, he shot a combined 8-of-13 from behind the three-point arc. Hawkins currently ranks second in the NJAC in three-point field goal percentage with a mark of .535.
