Newell becomes the second different Red Hawk to earn NJAC Player of the Week honors this season after helping to lead Montclair to an 83-69 NJAC road victory at Kean. He tallied a double-double 27 points and 10 rebounds in the Red Hawks' only contest of the week. In only his second game played this season, he shot 6-of-12 from the field, 4-of-4 from three-point range, and 11-of-14 from the free throw line. In two games played for the Red Hawks, Newell is averaging 21.0 points and six rebounds per game.

Fantroyal becomes the first Scarlet Raptor to earn an NJAC weekly basketball award this season after averaging 12.5 points and 4.5 rebounds per game during two conference contests this week for Rutgers-Camden. He first notched 14 points, four rebounds and three steals in the Raptors' 69-60 loss to Rutgers-Newark. He wrapped up the week by tallying 11 points, five rebounds, and three steals in Camden's 75-48 loss to William Paterson. Fantroyal currently ranks fifth in the NJAC in steals with an average of 2.53 per game.
