OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK  

Ken Hussey, Ramapo College
Junior, Forward
Parsippany, NJ/Parsippany

Hussey becomes the second different Roadrunner to earn NJAC Offensive Player of the Week honors after leading Ramapo to the semifinals of the 2007 NJAC Men’s Soccer Championship Tournament. In the Roadrunners’ first round match at Rutgers-Camden, he netted the game-winning goal in the 54th minute off of a 25-yard direct kick to propel Ramapo to a 2-0 win. With the victory, fifth-seeded Ramapo will advance to a semifinal match-up with top-seeded NJCU on October 31. In 17 matches played for Ramapo on the season, Hussey has accumulated eight goals and four assists for 20 points.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK  

Kevin Nuss, Rowan University

Nuss earns NJAC Player of the Week honors after leading the Profs to a pair of victories over NJAC rival TCNJ in a span of three days. He first collected five saves while surrendering just one goal in Rowan’s 2-1 NJAC victory over the Lions which clinched the sixth-seed in the 2007 NJAC Men’s Soccer Championship Tournament. Two days later, he notched four saves in the Profs’ 1-0 first round shutout of the Lions in Ewing. With the victory, sixth-seeded Rowan will advance to a semifinal match-up with second-seeded Montclair State on October 31. Nuss currently ranks fifth in the NJAC in total saves (75).

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Malta becomes the second different Red Hawk to earn NJAC Rookie of the Week honors after tallying both goals in MSU’s 2-0 NJAC road win at Ramapo which clinched the second seed and a first round bye in the 2007 NJAC Men’s Soccer Championship Tournament. After re-entering the scoreless game with just 7:18 remaining in regulation, he tallied the game-winning goal and added a second score just two minutes. The second-seeded Red Hawks will host sixth-seeded Rowan in a semifinal match-up on October 31. In 15 matches played on the season for Montclair, Malta has tallied five goals and one assist for 11 points.
