UNION--Senior nose tackle Darryl Jackson has been selected to play in a pair of senior all-star games, first as a member of Team USA for the 2009 Tazon de Estrellas (Bowl of the Stars), and most recently for the East Coast Bowl following a four-year career for the Kean football team.
The East Coast Bowl is an annual college football all-star games that features the most elite Division I – FCS, II, III and NAIA college football players from across the Mid-Atlantic region. The game, held every year on the weekend following Thanksgiving, will be player at Cameron Field in Petersburg, Virginia on Saturday, November 28.
Formerly known as the Aztec Bowl, Jackson is one of 50 NCAA Division III players selected to represent the United States that will face the Tec Monterrey All-Stars on the Tec de Monterrey Campus Estado de Mexico on Saturday, December 19, in Monterrey, Mexico.
Jackson becomes the first player in program history to be selected for the Tazon Bowl. A three-year starter at nose tackle, Jackson has made 39 tackles, including three and a half tackles for a loss of 25 yards and three sacks for a 23-yard loss. This season he is also tied for second with four pass break-ups at the line, as the Cougar defense ranks second in the New Jersey Athletic Conference in scoring defense and total defense, while ranking third in rush defense and pass defense.
