TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK  

Abad Akhtar, Richard Stockton College
Freshman
Atlantic City, NJ/Atlantic City

Akhtar earns the first NJAC Men’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week selection of the season after competing at the Stockton Invitational contested at the newly named G. Larry James Stadium. He opened his outdoor season by placing fourth in a field of 25 competitors in the 1,500 meters with a time of 4:19.65.

FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK  

Sean Corey, Rowan University
Sophomore
Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill East

Corey earns the first NJAC Men’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week selection of the season after traveling to Winston Salem, NC to compete at the Wake Forest Open. He opened his season by placing fourth in a field of 36 competitors in the javelin with an NCAA automatic qualifying mark of 65.39 meters. Corey was the third collegiate finisher in the event which was won by an Olympian.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK  

Kyle Hayes, Rowan University
Freshman
Point Pleasant, NJ/Point Pleasant Boro

Hayes earns the first NJAC Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Rookie of the Week selection after traveling to Winston Salem, NC to compete at the Wake Forest Open. He opened his outdoor season by placing fifth in a field of 37 competitors in the long jump with an NCAA provisional leap of 7.11 meters.
