TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK  

Jessica Bonelli, The College of New Jersey
Junior
Sewell, NJ/Gloucester Catholic

Bonelli earns NJAC Women’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week honors for the third time this season after being named the Most Outstanding Track Athlete at the 2007 NJAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships. She placed first in a field of 12 competitors in the 200 meters with a time of 25.56. She also placed first in a field of 11 competitors in the 400 meters with a time of 57.24. Bonelli, who also was a member of the Lions’ NJAC Champion 4x100 meter relay team, helped lead TCNJ to its 15th consecutive NJAC Outdoor Track & Field Championship.
FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK  

Audra Schappell, Richard Stockton College

Schappell earns NJAC Women’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week honors for the sixth time this season after being named the Overall Most Outstanding Female Athlete at the 2007 NJAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships. She placed first in a field of nine competitors in the discus with an NCAA provisional mark of 42.55 meters. She also placed first in a field of seven competitors in the hammer throw with an NCAA provisional mark of 46.54 meters. She captured a third individual NJAC championship when she defeated a field of 11 competitors in the shot put with an NCAA provisional mark of 12.25 meters. Schappell helped lead the Ospreys to a second place finish in the conference championship meet.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK  

Juliana DaCosta, Ramapo College

DaCosta earns NJAC Outdoor Rookie of the Week honors after being named Co-Outstanding Field Athlete at the 2007 NJAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships. She placed second in a field of 11 competitors in the high jump with a leap of 1.60 meters. She also placed third in a field of 11 competitors in the triple jump with a leap of 10.75 meters. She wrapped up the meet by placing fifth in a field of 14 competitors in the long jump with a mark of 5.06 meters. DaCosta helped lead the Roadrunners to a fourth place finish in the championship meet.
