TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Chereyse Hepburn, Rowan University Junior Egg Harbor Township, NJ/Oakcrest
Hepburn earns NJAC Women’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week honors after competing at the New York City Qualifying Challenge contested at Icahn Stadium on Randall’s Island in New York. She placed second in a field of seven competitors in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 15.28. Hepburn’s performance came just one week after she earned all-conference honors by placing second in the 100 meter hurdles at the NJAC Championships.
FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Juliana DaCosta, Ramapo College Freshman Dumont, NJ/Dumont
A Week 7 NJAC Rookie of the Week selection, DaCosta earns NJAC Women’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week honors after competing at the Penn Jersey League Championship hosted by College of Misericordia in Dallas, PA. She placed first in a field of four competitors in the high jump with a winning leap of 1.50 meters. She also placed second in a field of seven in the long jump with a school-record leap of 5.11 meters. She wrapped up the day by placing second in a field of four competitors in the triple jump with a school-record mark of 10.92 meters. The 2007 NJAC Women’s Co-Outstanding Outdoor Field Athlete helped propel the Roadrunners to a third place finish in the six-team meet.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Judline Tumson, Montclair State University Freshman Newark, NJ/Arts
Tumson earns NJAC Outdoor Rookie of the Week honors after competing at the Penn Jersey League Championship hosted by College of Misericordia in Dallas, PA. She placed first in a field of nine competitors in the 200 meters with a winning time of 25.30. She also placed second in a field of eight competitors in the 100 meter dash with a time of 12.30. Tumson’s performances came just one week after she earned first-team all-conference honors at the NJAC Championships by winning the 100 meter dash.
