TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK  

Ebony Barnes, New Jersey City University
Sophomore
Elizabeth, NJ/Elizabeth

Barnes earns NJAC Women’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week honors for the second time this season after competing at the ECAC Division III Championships hosted by SUNY Oneonta. She captured the ECAC Championship in the 100 meters by placing first in a field of 15 competitors with a personal-best and NCAA provisional time of 12.18. She also placed second in a field of 19 competitors in the 200 meters with a time of 25.42. Barnes, who scored 18 of NJCU’s 20 points in the meet, helped lead the Gothic Knights to a 14th place finish in the 43-team championship.
FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK  

Audra Schappell, Richard Stockton College
Senior

Schappell earns NJAC Women’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week honors for the seventh time this season after competing at the ECAC Division III Championships hosted by SUNY Oneonta. She captured her second consecutive ECAC Championship in the discus by defeating a field of 20 competitors with a facility record throw of 43.70 meters. She also placed third in a field of 11 competitors in the shot put with a toss of 11.92 meters. She wrapped up the meet by placing 11th in a field of 20 competitors in the hammer throw with a mark of 41.56 meters. Schappell, who scored 16 of Stockton’s 30 points in the meet, helped lead the Ospreys to a ninth place finish in the 43-team championship.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK  

Kristen Tricocci, The College of New Jersey

Tricocci earns NJAC Outdoor Rookie of the Week honors for the second time this season after competing in the Swarthmore/TCNJ Last Chance meets in Swarthmore, PA and Ewing respectively. She first placed second in a field of six competitors in the long jump competition at Swarthmore with a mark of 5.24 meters. She then placed fifth in a field of six competitors in the long jump competition in Ewing with an identical mark of 5.24 meters. Tricocci was also a member of the Lions’ 4x100 meter relay team which placed second at TCNJ with an NCAA provisional time of 48.27.
