Barnes earns NJAC Women’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the
Week honors for the fourth time this season after being named the
Outstanding Female Track Athlete at the 2008 NJAC Outdoor Championships
hosted by Richard Stockton. She placed first in a field of 14 competitors
in the 100 meter dash with a meet-record and a NCAA automatic qualifying
time of 11.84. She also placed first in a field of 22 competitors in the
200 meters with a NCAA provisional time of 25.12. She also was a member of
the Gothic Knights’ 4x400 meter relay which placed second in a field of
six teams with an ECAC qualifying time of 4:05.01. Barnes’ performances
helped propel NJCU to a fourth place finish in the nine-team conference
championship. |

Riddick earns NJAC Field Athlete of the Week honors for
the second time this season after being named the Thomas M. Gerrity Most
Outstanding Female Athlete at the 2008 NJAC Outdoor Championships hosted
by Richard Stockton. She placed first in a field of 18 competitors in the
shot put with a meet-record and a NCAA automatic qualifying mark of 14.28
meters. She also placed first in a field of 15 competitors in the discus
with an ECAC qualifying throw of 37.74 meters. Riddick’s performances
helped propel the Red Hawks to a fifth place finish in the nine-team
conference championship. |

Brown becomes the second different Gothic Knight to
earn NJAC Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Rookie of the Week honors after
traveling to Pomona to compete at the 2008 NJAC Outdoor Championships
hosted by Richard Stockton. She placed first in a field of six competitors
in the triple jump with an ECAC qualifying leap of 11.12 meters. She also
placed third in a field of 15 in the long jump with a career-long and ECAC
qualifying leap of 5.27 meters. She also was a member of the Gothic
Knights’ 4x400 meter relay which placed second in a field of six teams
with an ECAC qualifying time of 4:05.01. Brown’s performances helped
propel NJCU to a fourth place finish in the nine-team conference
championship. |
