PLAYER OF THE WEEK - WEEK 4

Kari McDonnell, Montclair State University
Junior, Infielder, Wrightstown, NJ/North Burlington

McDonnell earns NJAC Player of the Week honors after hitting .545 in a 3-1 week of conference play for the Red Hawks. She opened the week by going a combined 4-for-9 with a home run and six RBI in Montclair's 9-0 and 11-3 doubleheader sweep over NJCU. She wrapped up the week with a .909 slugging percentage after going 2-for-4 with a walk in the Red Hawks' split with Richard Stockton. The Montclair team leader in runs scored, home runs and RBI, McDonnell currently ranks third in the NJAC in hitting with a .458 batting average. The Red Hawks, 13-3 overall, return to action on April 6 when they travel to face rival William Paterson. 

PITCHER OF THE WEEK - WEEK 4

Becky Johnson, Rutgers University-Camden
Junior, Pitcher, Bridgeton, NJ/Cumberland Regional

Johnson earns NJAC Pitcher honors after allowing a total of nine hits in three shutout victories during the week for the Scarlet Raptors. She opened the week by holding Richard Stockton to just two hits while striking out five in a 5-0 Camden victory. After striking out eight in a one-hit 2-0 non-conference win over Ursinus, she wrapped up the week by striking out six while throwing her fifth consecutive shutout in a 5-0 win over Rutgers-Newark. Johnson, 9-0 overall with a 0.36 earned run average, leads all NJAC pitchers in opposing batting average (.106). Rutgers-Camden, 18-2 overall, returns to action on April 6 when they travel to face conference rival Rowan.

ROOKIE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - WEEK 4

Michele Rossi, Ramapo College
Freshman, Outfielder, Emerson, NJ/Emerson

Rossi earns NJAC Rookie honors after hitting .545 in a 4-0 week for the Roadrunners. She opened the week by going 5-for-8 with a double, three RBI and three runs scored in Ramapo's 4-0 and 15-0 sweep of Rutgers-Newark. After driving in the winning run in Ramapo's 1-0 game one victory over TCNJ, she wrapped up the week by going 1-2 with a run scored as the Roadrunners completed the sweep of the Lions with a 6-2 victory. Rossi currently ranks 28th in the NJAC in hitting with a .327 batting average. Ramapo, 14-2 overall, returns to action on April 6 when they travel for a conference doubleheader at NJCU. 

ROOKIE PITCHER OF THE WEEK - WEEK 4

Mary Gardiner, Kean University
Freshman, Pitcher, Tinton Falls, NJ/Tinton Falls

Gardiner earns NJAC Rookie Pitcher honors for the second time this season after pitching four innings of scoreless relief in Kean's 6-3 conference victory at Rowan. She allowed just three hits and two walks while helping lead the Cougars to their first NJAC victory of the season. Gardiner currently ranks 17th among all NJAC pitchers with a 2.61 earned run average. Kean returns to action on April 6 when they travel to face NJAC rival Rutgers-Newark.
