PLAYER OF THE WEEK  

 

Autumn Millett, Rutgers-Camden
Sophomore, Outfielder

Millett earns NJAC Player of the Week honors for the second time this season after hitting .364 during the 2005 NJAC Championship Tournament. In the last two days of the tournament against eventual champion William Paterson, she hit .500 (7-for-14) and knocked in the game-winning run in the 12th inning of the Raptor's 4-3 victory in Game 4. The Scarlet Raptors earned an at-large bid to the NCAA National Championship Tournament and were seeded first in the Wayne Regional. They will open NCAA Tournament play on May 13 when they will face either Ursinus or Staten Island. Millett currently leads the NJAC in RBI with 35 on the season. 

PITCHER OF THE WEEK    

Jenn Scott, William Paterson University
Sophomore, Right-handed Pitcher
Mount Ephraim, NJ/Bishop Eustace

Scott earns NJAC Pitcher of the Week honors after going 2-1 with a 0.46 earned run average in 30.1 innings of work during the 2005 NJAC Championship Tournament. She led the Pioneer to their third conference championship in school history by allowing just six hits in 15 innings of work during the Pioneers' 1-0 victory in the conference championship game. In her title game performance, she struck out 15 while issuing just one intentional walk. Earlier in the tournament, she earned a 3-1 win over Rowan by tossing 5.2 innings of two-hit relief. William Paterson earned the NJAC's automatic bid to the NCAA National Championship Tournament and was selected to host the five-team Wayne Regional. The Pioneers will open NCAA Tournament play on May 13 when they face Manhattanville at Noon. Scott currently ranks second in the NJAC in wins with 16 on the season. 

ROOKIE PITCHER OF THE WEEK  
 

Diana Schraer, William Paterson University
Freshman, Right-handed Pitcher

Last week's NJAC Pitcher of the Week, Schraer earns NJAC Rookie Pitcher honors for the fifth time this season after going 2-0 with a 2.06 earned run average in 17 innings of work during the 2005 NJAC Championship Tournament. In Game 6 of the tournament, she allowed just six hits in 5.1 innings of work to help the Pioneers earn a 7-2 win over Rutgers-Camden forcing a seventh and deciding tournament contest. Earlier in the tournament, she surrendered nine hits in a 5-2 complete-game victory over Ramapo. Schraer currently ranks third in the NJAC in earned run average with a mark of 0.77.
