PLAYER OF THE WEEK  

 

Athanasia Totaro, Montclair State University
Junior, Designated Player
Roseland, NJ/West Essex

Totaro earns the final NJAC Player of the Week selection after leading the Red Hawks to their sixth consecutive ECAC Division III South Tournament Championship. The Most Valuable Player of the Tournament, she hit .727 (8-for-11) and picked up all three victories on the mound for Montclair. In two wins over top-seeded Westminster, she was a combined 5-for-7 at the plate while striking out six and walking none in 10 innings of work on the mound. A first-team all-conference selection, Totaro currently ranks second in the conference with a .402 batting average. 

PITCHER OF THE WEEK    

Jenn Scott, William Paterson University
Sophomore, Right-handed Pitcher
Mount Ephraim, NJ/Bishop Eustace

Scott earns NJAC Pitcher of the Week honors for the second consecutive week after playing a key role in the Pioneers' NCAA East Regional Championship. In two appearances, she was 1-0 with a save and a 0.61 earned run average in 14.2 innings of work. In the Pioneers' first contest against top-seeded Rutgers-Camden, she scattered six hits over 13 innings to earn the victory in the 2-1 win. In Paterson's Regional Championship clinching victory over the Scarlet Raptors, she struck out two in 1.2 innings of work to earn a save and propel the Pioneers to the NCAA National Finals. William Paterson will next travel to Raleigh, NC to open play in the NCAA Finals on March 20 against second-seeded Ithaca. An all-regional selection, Scott currently ranks fifth among all NJAC pitchers with a 1.08 earned run average. 

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK  

 

Cheryl Bodak, Montclair State University
Freshman, Outfielder
South River, NJ/South River

Bodak earns the final NJAC Rookie of the Week selection after helping to propel the Red Hawks to their sixth straight ECAC Division III South Tournament Championship. In the first three starts of her career, she hit .250 while doubling in three runs in the Red Hawks' 9-8 win over top-seeded Westminster for the Montclair program's 850th softball win in school history. In 11 games played for the Red Hawks during her freshman campaign, Bodak hit .250 with two doubles and six RBI.

ROOKIE PITCHER OF THE WEEK  
 

Diana Schraer, William Paterson University
Freshman, Right-handed Pitcher
Paramus, NJ/Paramus

Schraer earns the final NJAC Rookie Pitcher selection - her sixth of the season - after winning two of Paterson's three games during the NCAA Tournament East Regional. She first posted a four-hit shutout in the Pioneers' 3-0 victory over second-seeded Manhattanville. She wrapped up the week by earning the win on the mound in the Regional Championship clinching victory over Rutgers-Camden by scattering three hits over 5.1 innings in the 1-0 win. A winner in her last 12 straight decisions and a first-team all NJAC selection, she was named to the all-regional team for her efforts. Schraer currently ranks second among all conference pitchers with a 0.70 earned run average.
