Cintron earns NJAC Player of the Week honors after
averaging 6.41 kills and 3.71 digs per game in a 4-1 week of
non-conference play for the Gothic Knights. She first recorded 22 kills,
11 digs and five blocks in a 3-1 road loss to No. 23 Stevens. She then
opened play in the Endicott College Invitational by notching 22 kills, 12
digs, and four blocks in a 3-1 win over Bowdoin. She collected match
totals of nine kills and 10 digs in a 3-1 win over Salve Regina, before
registering a triple-double 33 kills, 18 digs, and 10 blocks in a 3-2
victory over Springfield. She wrapped up tournament Most Valuable Player
honors by finishing with 23 kills, 12 digs, and five blocks in a 3-0 sweep
of host Endicott. The two-time reigning NJAC Player of the Year, Cintron
currently ranks fifth all-time in kills in NCAA Division III history.

Johnston earns NJAC Rookie of the Week honors after
helping propel the Red Hawks to a 5-0 week of non-conference play. She
opened the week with 11 kills and four aces in a 3-0 sweep of John Jay.
She then had 11 kills and nine digs in a 3-0 sweep of Baruch, before
tallying six kills, three aces, and 11 digs in a 3-0 win over Farmingdale
State in the SUNY Old Westbury Tournament. On the final day at Old
Westbury, she posted six kills, five aces, and three digs in a 3-0 win
over Lincoln, before collecting match totals of 10 kills, two aces, and
three digs in a 3-0 victory over the host Panthers. Johnston averaged 3.14
kills per game while helping to lead the Red Hawks to the Old Westbury
Tournament championship. |
