Cintron earns NJAC Player of the Week honors for the
second consecutive week after averaging 5.88 kills and 2.62 digs per game
in a 2-0 week of play for the Gothic Knights. She first tallied 24 kills
and seven digs as NJCU opened conference play with a 3-0 road win at
William Paterson. She wrapped up the week by eclipsing the 3,000 career
point plateau by tallying a double-double 23 kills and 14 digs in the
Knights’ 3-2 non-conference victory over Hunter. Her performance against
Hunter marked the 90th match of her career in which she registered a
double-double. The two-time reigning NJAC Player of the Year, Cintron hit
a combined .446 in the two victories and moved into 18th place on the
NCAA’s all-time Division I, II and III list for career kills (2,441).

Johanesen earns NJAC Rookie of the Week honors for the
second time this season after helping to propel the Gothic Knights to a
pair of victories. In the first NJAC match of her career, she tallied 20
assists and three digs as NJCU opened its conference season with a 3-0
road win at William Paterson. Two nights later, she registered a
career-high 46 assists while adding two service aces and seven digs in the
Gothic Knights’ 3-2 non-conference victory over Hunter. Johanesen’s
performance in the victory over the visiting Hawks helped extend NJCU’s
home court winning streak to 33 straight matches. |
