Cintron earns NJAC Player of the Week honors for the
fourth time this season after averaging 5.71 kills and 4.57 digs per game
in a 5-0 week of play for the Gothic Knights. She opened the week by
tallying a match-high 12 digs despite playing in only one game of NJCU’s
3-0 win over Rutgers-Newark. She then opened play in the FDU-Florham
Invitational by notching nine kills, four aces, and 15 digs despite
playing in only two games of the Gothic Knights’ 3-0 win over St.
Joseph’s-Patchogue. She then produced 11 kills, four aces, and eight digs
in a 3-0 win over Manhattanville, before tallying a triple-double 25
kills, 12 digs, and 10 blocks in a 3-1 non-conference win over
league-rival Montclair State. She wrapped up the week by helping NJCU
capture the championship of the FDU Invitational by registering a
double-double 34 kills and 17 digs in a 3-1 title match win over the host
Devils. Cintron, who was named to the FDU-Florham All-Tournament team,
currently leads the NJAC in both hitting percentage (.395) and kills per
game (5.70) while ranking ninth all-time in NCAA Divisions I, II, and III
combined with 2,695 career kills. |

Young earns NJAC Rookie of the Week honors for the
second time this season after averaging 4.36 kills and 3.00 digs per game
in a 3-0 week of play for the Profs. She first registered nine kills and
13 digs in Rowan’s 3-0 NJAC win over Rutgers-Camden. She then produced a
double-double 23 kills and 10 digs in a 3-0 win over Albright, before
wrapping up the week with a double-double 16 kills and 10 digs in a 3-2
road win at Gwynedd-Mercy. Young currently ranks 11th in the NJAC in kills
with an average of 2.71 per game. |
