Cintron earns NJAC Player of the Week honors for the
fifth time this season and the second consecutive week after averaging
8.11 kills and 4.11 digs per game in a 4-0 week of play for the Gothic
Knights. She opened the week by registering a double-double 28 kills and
15 digs in a key 3-0 NJAC win over Richard Stockton. Two nights later, she
posted eight kills and three blocks in just two games during the Knights’
3-0 NJAC road win at Kean. She then opened play in the NJCU Gothic Knight
Invitational by recording six kills and four aces in just one game of
NJCU’s 3-0 blanking of Lehman. She then notched a double-double 31 kills
and 15 digs in the Gothic Knights’ 3-0 win over William Paterson to garner
Most Valuable Player honors of the Invitational. Cintron, who hit .573 in
the four matches combined, currently leads the NJAC in hitting percentage
(.423), kills per game (5.98), blocks per game (1.16), and points per game
(7.25). |

Johnston earns NJAC Rookie of the Week honors for the
second time this season after averaging 3.38 kills and 4.31 digs per game
in a 2-2 week of play for the Red Hawks. She first tallied 13 kills and
eight digs in MSU’s 3-0 NJAC win over Ramapo. Two nights later, she
registered a double-double 14 kills and 14 digs in the Red Hawks’ 3-0 NJAC
road win at Rowan. Two days later at a tri-match at Coast Guard, she
posted eight kills and 13 digs in a loss to conference foe Richard
Stockton, before wrapping up the week with nine kills and 21 digs in a
loss to the host Bears. Johnston currently ranks eighth in the NJAC in
kills with an average of 2.90 per game. |
