Cintron earns NJAC Player of the Week honors for the
sixth time this season after averaging 5.17 kills per game while hitting
.622 during a 2-0 week of play for NJCU. She first tallied 20 kills, six
digs, and five blocks as the Gothic Knights wrapped up an undefeated NJAC
regular season with a 3-0 win over Rowan. Two nights later, she posted 11
kills, seven digs, and four blocks in NJCU’s 3-0 victory over Lehman in
their regular season finale. With 2,818 career kills entering the NJAC
Volleyball Tournament, she currently ranks sixth all-time on the combined
NCAA Divisions I, II, and III career kills list. After receiving a first
round bye, Cintron and the top-seeded Gothic Knights will open play in the
2007 NJAC Volleyball Championship Tournament by hosting the winner of the
first round Ramapo-Rowan match in a semifinal contest on November 1.

Taege earns NJAC Rookie of the Week honors after
averaging 3.0 kills per game in a 3-0 week of play for the Roadrunners.
She opened the week by registering six kills and five service aces in a
3-0 NJAC road win over William Paterson which clinched the fourth-seed in
the NJAC Tournament for Ramapo. Two nights later, she collected 12 kills,
four digs, and four service aces in a 3-0 non-conference win over York
(NY). Two nights later, she wrapped up her regular season by tallying nine
kills, 15 digs, and three service aces in a 3-0 NJAC road win at
Rutgers-Newark. Taege and the fourth-seeded Roadrunners will host
fifth-seeded Rowan in the first round of the 2007 NJAC Volleyball
Championship Tournament on October 30. |
