Beyruti earns NJAC Women’s Basketball Player of the
Week honors after averaging 19.5 points and 3.0 rebounds per game in a
pair of non-conference wins that improved the Cougars to 5-0 overall on
the season. She opened the week by tallying 16 points on 4-of-5 shooting
from three-point range while adding four assists and three blocks in
Kean’s 110-36 non-conference win over John Jay. Two nights later, she
registered 23 points, four rebounds, and two steals in a 95-72
non-conference victory over Baruch. Beyruti, who led the Cougars in
scoring and three-point field goals made in both games, currently leads
the NJAC in both free throw percentage (.917) and three-point field goals
made per game (3.00). |

Fitzgerald earns NJAC Women’s Basketball Rookie of the
Week honors for the third consecutive week after averaging a double-double
26.0 points and 13.0 rebounds in a pair of contests for the Gothic
Knights. She opened the week by tallying career highs of 28 points and 18
rebounds during 48 minutes of played in NJCU’s 85-77 double-overtime
non-conference loss to Farmingdale State - the first double-overtime game
in program history. Three days later in the first conference contest of
her career, she tallied a game-high 24 points while adding eight rebounds
and six assists in a 70-67 defeat to Rowan. Fitzgerald currently leads the
NJAC in both scoring (19.7 points per game) and minutes played (37.33 per
game). |
